The first time I saw you guys perform was at the Gaslighter. My first thought was ” Wow, they’re REALLY good “. I believe I was a sophomore in high school. When I starting learning to drive, I would sneak out and drive around the block so that I could blast ” NO RIGHT”!!!! The first sticker I put on my car was a RIVALS one
I was blown away by your energy and stage presense!! And too this day it remains the same! No show is alike. Even if the same songs, each show is so exciting and new!!! I have so much respect for you guys. Thank you for being not only GREAT musicians, but great people too!

I remember the first time I saw Rivals almost 10 years ago. I was a senior in HS and very into the local music scene. It’s amazing how much it’s changed since then. I still have all the Rivals albums. Awakening is my favorite. Every time ‘All I Ever Wanted Was The Truth’, ‘Fuse’ or ‘Crutch’ comes on my iPod I can’t help but turn that shit up and sing it at the top of my lungs! Damn, after reading your post I had to listen to it. Brings back SO many great memories!! I think my first Rivals show was the Halloween show in ’03. I think. I believe it was the year you guys did Wizard of Oz. LOL. I know I haven’t been to many shows, but Rivals are and always will be one of my FAVORITE local bands. Keep on rockin’ and I’ll see y’all on the 8th in Livermore. \m/
